How Our Talent Engine Landed Us 7 Years On The Inc 5000 List
isolved Talent Acquisition is super excited to once again be named one of the 5000 fastest-growing privately held small companies in the U.S on Inc. Magazine's 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies! The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. In 2019's list we ranked #4225 and have seen 73% growth in the last 3 years.
This time around, we are over the moon as it's our 7th consecutive year on the list. Few companies make it more than once as it gets harder every year, but only one and a half percent have made it 7 times!
As enthusiastic as my team and I feel to be part of this small percentage, in this week's video I'm not here to brag. Instead, I want to share with you my hiring strategies that have helped isolved Talent Acquisition continue to be successful and show you how you can build your own talent engine to grow long term and sustain your growth.
Become a Hiring Ghostbuster
Learn how to mitigate applicant ghosting with these few tips
Now, let's jump into the tips that landed us here.
Look at Hiring Like Marketing, Not HR
Think of two companies selling the same mediocre product. Both can simply throw it out on the market and hope for results, but chances are they won't get many customers. What if one decided to stand out, improve their product, and differentiate themselves from the competition? What if they took the time to understand their target market and made them the focus of their efforts? This is how we need to think about hiring in a competitive job market.
You're the marketer, your job seekers are your potential customers, your open positions are your products. Are you going to post and pray, or make ‘em sell?
Write Ads, Not Descriptions
If your jobs are your products, you want to put out the best advertisements for them. If your competitors are posting similar jobs with standard, boring job descriptions, make your ad your competitive advantage by outlining what makes yours better than the rest. Talk about your perks and benefits, ask your employees what they love the most about working for you and put that information out there to attract great talent!
Reduce Friction
Once you've got a great product that's attracted your target market, make it easy to buy! (Or in this case, apply.) Don't make your candidates jump through hoops to submit their information to you. Make the application process simple and layout the next steps and expectations to keep them interested.
Retain Your Talent
Selling your job doesn't end at the time of hire, watch the video to learn how these steps can be implemented to retain your best employees and expand your organization's growth!
