Have you applied for your own jobs lately?
Maybe you've been in your position for years and haven't needed to apply for a job in general, even less for a job at the company you're already working for. Why would you?
Well— let me clear this up a bit. I'm not suggesting that you consider switching up your role within your organization, I'm simply asking if you've gone through the process that you're putting your candidates through every day.
More than half of the job seekers that begin your application, don’t finish it.
According to CareerBuilder, 60% of candidates that begin an online application won’t complete it. This means you could be missing out on a significant number of great applicants.
Do you feel like you’re lacking applicant flow? Do you consistently receive applications from job seekers that aren’t qualified? Are you wondering why? If so, I’m gonna go ahead and assume that you haven’t applied for your own jobs - because the answer to these questions is usually found in that process.
Don’t beat yourself up, you’re not alone.
At a recent SHRM event I was speaking at, I asked this same question and was shocked at the response. In a room of roughly one hundred HR professionals who are currently involved in hiring for their organization, only two of them could say they've gone through their own process to properly evaluate it in the last year.
Understanding the experience that you’re offering your applicants is vital in your efforts to attract talent. In today’s video, I’m teaching you about the importance of the candidate experience and how making a few simple adjustments to your application process will drastically improve your results.
Attract More Highly Qualified Applicants
We spend countless hours researching the most effective, easy to implement, and FREE strategies that will dramatically boost your qualified applicant flow.
Try it for yourself.
Today I'm challenging you to go through the full process of applying for one of your jobs. I don’t mean fill in fake data and rush through, I mean seriously go through the entire process as if you were trying to get a job at your company.
This way, you’ll get the full effect and understand exactly what job seekers go through every time they apply to work for you.
What should I be looking for?
Here are the questions you should ask yourself... Does your job ad get you excited to apply? Are there any questions that you feel are redundant or unnecessary? Are you able to finish the process in a reasonable amount of time?
These are all important factors that you have to consider when you customize your application if you want to generate a greater amount of high-quality applicants. Wondering what other changes you can make? Check out the video for additional suggestions and stop missing out on great hires.
