Position: Construction Superintendent
Southwest Concrete Paving is looking for energetic, career oriented, team members to help integrate, grow, and establish a high quality construction team supporting military airfield and highway paving operation. The project superintendent is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and managing onsite construction activities for concrete paving and heavy civil construction projects to ensure quality and cost. This position will be a travelling position where the qualified applicant will be required to integrate and travel with a project team or paving crew to assist with all functions of project. The individual must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Some night and weekend work will be required.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in construction, with at least 5 years as a superintendent on airfield asphalt and concrete paving projects.
- In-depth knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
- Ability to interpret critical path schedules and construction drawings.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Familiarity with DOD Airfield work, UFGS root specifications and UFC design criteria
- Willingness to travel.
Duties:
- Manage subcontractors and coordinate day-to-day production and schedule adherence.
- Attend Red Zone meetings, partnering meetings, and quality control meetings.
- On-site presence is mandatory until project completion and acceptance.
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement project plans, including construction schedules and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to set project goals and objectives.
- Site Management:
- Oversee day-to-day on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Monitor and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and labor on the construction site.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential issues.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure work meets specified standards.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate testing to verify compliance with project requirements.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure adherence to the budget.
- Identify and address cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, subcontractors, and the construction team.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Coordination of Resources:
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
- Anticipate and resolve potential resource conflicts.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and address issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Implement effective solutions to overcome obstacles and challenges.
- Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and promote a culture of safety on the construction site.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and guidelines.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
- Document any changes or deviations from the original plans.
- Client Relations:
- Foster positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the construction process.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate the construction team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Provide guidance and support to resolve team-related issues.
- Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all necessary permits and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
