Position Responsibilities:
- Providing nursing care to patients throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of the patient's surgical experience
- Responsible for the direct and indirect delivery of professional nursing care for the patients in the operating room
- Initiate and develop discharge planning upon admission
- Responsible for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment utilizing the nursing process
- Collaborates with physicians, health care providers, and team members in developing coordinated outcomes and interventions
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Current unrestricted RN licensure in the states of Illinois and Iowa required
- ACLS and PALS Certifications are required
- Minimum 3 years of prior perioperative nursing experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Must be flexible with hours
