Position Responsibilities:

• Providing nursing care to patients throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of the patient's surgical experience
• Responsible for the direct and indirect delivery of professional nursing care for the patients in the operating room
• Initiate and develop discharge planning upon admission
• Responsible for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment utilizing the nursing process
• Collaborates with physicians, health care providers, and team members in developing coordinated outcomes and interventions

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Current unrestricted RN licensure in the states of Illinois and Iowa required
• ACLS and PALS Certifications are required
• Minimum 3 years of prior perioperative nursing experience is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
• Must be flexible with hours
