Position Description
NAEYC seeks a Marketing Coordinator to support the NAEYC Marketing and Communications team with administrative and communications activities to help create, launch and maintain various campaigns.
The Marketing Coordinator will also manage the calendar of the Deputy Chief Executive for Membership Engagement, Brand Advancement, and Professional Learning.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Work closely with the marketing team to support them in creating and launching visibility campaigns that promote NAEYC membership, services, programs, and events.
- Track and report the results of these campaigns, and will make recommendations based on data for improving future campaigns.
- Works closely with the Marketing Manager and the NAEYC web team to assist with the identification, implementation and maintenance of social media tools used for NAEYC campaigns, with the goal being to help keep social media content fresh and ensuring engagement opportunities are identified and leveraged.
- Track the majority of communications activities throughout NAEYC, building a "master calendar" that allows the team to identify and leverage opportunities. This calendar will be maintained online for all to access.
- Assist with overseeing advertisement placement logistics (for NAEYC publications and for external publications when opportunities arise).
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing and Membership on one or two specific NAEYC products or programs to help plan, implement and track marketing campaigns that aim to engage new audiences and attract new revenue for these products or program areas.
- Help maintain the marketing and communication budget to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Play a key role in helping to monitor and respond to all social media activity during major NAEYC conferences.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) required.
- One year work experience in relevant area.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database products).
- Experience with web content management systems and/or mass email systems preferred.
- Experience working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be organized and have strong attention to detail and be able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of association or cause-related marketing a plus.
- Familiarity with HTML preferred.
