Quality Control Checker

Klute is is a family owned company that has continued to grow and prosper since its commencement in 1961. We are looking to add a Quality Control Checker to our team.

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

Conduct visual and measurement tests to ensure product is meeting customer specifications while reporting any required adjustments to the Production Manager and QA Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable quality of products from raw materials, to the fabrication of pieces and part, and through the final assembly and any required coating process.
• Accountable for accurate decision-making on workmanship, and weld qualities by using the method of testing required for the order.
• Use time management to insure that no production time is lost and that the quality of the product meets specifications.
• Report unacceptable quality to the company's President
• Coordinating root cause analysis of defective products.
• Routine monitoring of compliance with customer specifications and company work instructions.
• Ensure products are fabricated to project requirements.
• Use shop prints to perform dimensional inspection of product before welding to ensure proper fit up of pieces.
• Perform visual inspection of completed welds and product.
• Responsible for documentation of all welds completed by welders.
• Report all unsafe conditions and product that does not meet quality standards to the Production Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability/competency reading blueprints.
• Two years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance system (preferred).
• Ability to work in a heavy steel fabrication shop environment.

• Standing and/or walking 85%
• Occasional lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
• Ability to view computer monitor
• Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding
