What does a Retail Pharmacy Manager do?
As a new Retail Pharmacy Manager at Grand Itasca, you can expect a rewarding yet challenging day-to-day experience. Your typical Monday to Friday schedule will involve overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with regulations. You'll lead your team in providing exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and implementing innovative practices to enhance patient safety. Daily responsibilities also include training and mentoring pharmacy staff, coordinating pharmacy services with healthcare providers, and addressing patient care needs. You will conduct regular assessments of pharmacy performance metrics to drive excellence and improve operational efficiency.
Engaging with patients to counsel them on medications and health management will be a critical part of your role. Additionally, you will stay updated with industry trends and advancements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in the pharmacy.
Are you the Retail Pharmacy Manager we're looking for?
To thrive as a Retail Pharmacy Manager at Grand Itasca, you will need a diverse skill set and relevant credentials. A current Minnesota Pharmacist License is essential, as it ensures compliance with state regulations and upholds the highest standards of patient care. Two years of pharmacist experience is preferred, but not required, ideally complemented by previous management experience, enabling you to lead a team effectively and drive operational excellence. Strong communication skills are paramount for interacting with both team members and patients, ensuring clear and compassionate exchanges regarding medication therapies. Proficiency in pharmacy management software and tools is crucial for efficient workflow management and data analysis.
Additionally, strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning will equip you to navigate the evolving landscape of health care while implementing innovative practices that enhance patient outcomes and pharmacy operations.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Current MN Pharmacist License in good standing
- Two years pharmacist experience preferred
- Previous management experience preferred.
